Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina made her debut with humorous rap tracks that tackled sexuality and racial identities with a the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to broadening her reach to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. Additionally, she was given Jazz and classical training before when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. Following a focus on education, she graduated with the degree of journalist in college and a women's studies specialization. The focus changed to music only after she graduated. Her 2012 track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success through the Internet eventually landing on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also featured popular hits, including the body positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$. This latter song was directly tied to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. Apart from being a published author and a singer, she was also a professional as a performer. She's appeared in movies including Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in 2018 with a few notable films like Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released In Fina We Trust.
